Mountain Lake

Mountain Lake sits along the edge of the Presidio and San Francisco, near Lake Street and Park Presidio. The western part has recently been restored by the National Park Service, and the east end is being restored. On the south side of the lake is a marker commemorating where Juan Bautista, the first Spaniard, camped in San Francisco several weeks before America’s Declaration of Independence. Now, it welcomes visitors with green lawn, grand tree, and a play ground. See the pictures here.
