Mesmerizing Images Captured from Smoke

Slowly I am learning how a plume of smoke might be manipulated into amazing images. Long, thin plumes stretching from the bottom of the frame upward offer limited options. Out-of-focus plumes produce, well, smokey designs. Different kinds of incense produce different types of smoke. Loose incense burned on a bit of charcoal effuses clouds of smoke. Generally speaking, cheap sticks are better for raising a nice cloud of stink. More expensive brands of incense are smoke-free, so a poor choice for this project. <strong>See the pictures here.
